Max!

iOS

iPadOS

Fly high. Dodge the city.

Max! is a hand-drawn superhero adventure with one simple action: press anywhere, then release to fly up and clear the city ahead. Dodge buildings and flying baddies, protect three lives, and chase a personal best across three flight paces.

Max began with drawings my son made when he was four. Those drawings became the game, and what I receive from Unlimited Plays is saved for his future.

Features

A drawing takes flight.

Meet Max

Max first appeared in drawings my son made when he was four. The main menu keeps that hand-painted hero front and center; one button sends him into a one-action flight over the city.

Max mid-jump above a hand-drawn building with clouds in the sky, two speed lines trailing behind him, a high-flying baddie ahead, a score of 18, and all three lives remaining.

One clear action

Press anywhere to prepare, then release to send Max upward. Stay low beneath high-flying baddies and time each jump around the city skyline.

A city full of surprises

Different buildings and low- or high-flying baddies ask you to jump or stay low. More hand-drawn obstacles join the run as the score rises.

Fly, dodge, keep going.

Max flying with clouds and three speed lines behind him towards two different buildings while the Speed increasing warning appears, with a score of 23 and two lives remaining.

Speed builds as you fly

Glide, Boost, and Supersonic set the starting rhythm. The pace keeps rising during a run, with a clear warning before each increase.

Max crashing into a hand-drawn building beneath two clouds, with the collision burst visible, a score of 41, and one life remaining.

Three lives, visible stakes

A collision costs one of three lives, pauses the action for clear feedback, then lets Max recover and keep flying until the third hit.

Max jumping through the dark game sky with clouds and speed-line trails hidden, towards a low-flying baddie and a tall building, with a score of 88 and two lives remaining.

A quieter sky when you want it

The sky follows the system’s Light or Dark appearance. Reduce Distractions removes decorative clouds, and Reduce Motion removes speed-line trails, without changing the rules.

Built for more ways to play

VoiceOver, Direct Touch, and audio cues

With VoiceOver, Direct Touch lets the full gameplay surface receive immediate taps. Optional beeps or continuous tones announce an approaching obstacle, then end with a Jump or Stay Low cue.

Learn the cues before take-off

How to Play puts each audio cue in context and lets you preview the final upward Jump cue and downward Stay Low cue before starting a run.

The Max! free-plays notice on iPad, saying that more free plays will be ready tomorrow, with OK and Ask a grown-up buttons.

Free every day

Play 9 free runs on your first day and 3 each day after that. When today’s free plays finish, Max simply says more are ready tomorrow. A grown-up can choose one optional Unlimited Plays purchase with Family Sharing—never a subscription.

Why Max!?

Max! keeps its rules simple and its feedback flexible. VoiceOver play uses Direct Touch and optional audio cues, the menus adapt to Dynamic Type, and the game sky follows Light and Dark Mode. These features are part of the game for every player. Unlimited Plays changes only the daily run limit. What I receive from Unlimited Plays is saved for my son’s future.
